the songs like “scooby doo where r you” but he’s always right there. like the fucking dog is never hiding or missing or anything so what the hell
This implies OP has never heard the innumerous times Shaggy has got separated from him and said- and I’m using the sarcastic font for this because it simulates Shaggy’s wobbly tone:
‘Scooby Doo wHERE ArE yOU??’
Ok I’m pretty sure it happens like every episode, but no one’s made a compilation of it, I just found a random clip of Shaggy getting scared alone and timestamped it, because he always calls out for Scoob when he’s scared and alone: https://youtu.be/Edr6_-L3bi4?t=93
Let’s not forget to acknowledge Alexandre Dumas this Black History Month
The writer of two of the most well known stories worldwide, The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo was a black man.
That’s excellence.
Let’s not forget that he was played on screen by a white man. And the fact that he was black is barely ever mentioned or the book he wrote inspired by his experiences.
Other things not to forget about Alexandre Dumas:
chose to take on his slave grandmother’s last name, Dumas, like his father did before him.
grew up too poor for formal education, so was largely self-taught, including becoming a prolific reader, multilingual, well-travelled, and a foodie, resulting in his writing both a combination encyclopedia/cookbook (which just— is fucking outrageous to me) AND the adaptation of The Nutcracker on which Tchaikovsky based his ballet
he also wrote a LOOOOT of nonfiction and fiction about history, politics, and revolution, bc he was pro-monarchy, but a radical cuss, and that got him in a lot of hot water at home and abroad.
even beyond that, he generally put up with a lot of racist bullshit in France, so he went and wrote a novel about colonialism and a BLATANTLY self-insert anti-slavery vigilante hero (which he then cribbed from to write the Count of Monte Cristo, the main character of which, Edmond Dantés, Dumas also based on himself).
(…a novel which also features a LOAD of PoC beyond the Count, and at LEAST one queer character, btw, bc EVERY MOVIE ADAPTATION OF ANYTHING BY DUMAS IS A LIE; seriously, at LEAST one of the four Musketeers is Black, y'all.)
famously, when some fuckshit or other wanted to come at Dumas with some anti-Black foolishness, Dumas replied, “My father was a mulatto, my grandfather was a Negro, and my great-grandfather a monkey. You see, Sir, my family starts where yours ends.”
for the bicentennial of his birthday, Pres. Jacques Cirac was like, “…sorry about the hella racism,” and had Dumas’s ashes reinterred at the Panthéon of Paris, bc if you’re gonna keep the corpses of the cream of the crop all together, Dumas’s more widely read and translated than literally everybody else.
and they are still finding stuff old dude wrote, seriously; like discovering “lost” works as recently as 2002, publishing stuff for the first time as recently as 2005.

SWAG
I know I’ve reblogged this before, ages ago, but it’s important enough that I’m doing it again
I love “how do you do math?” questions. Here’s how my brain does it:
How about you guys?
My brain makes the AOL dial-up screech
I don’t know what it says about me that I didn’t just round the numbers up but my brain went 48+20 = 68+7 and then went on a side tangent of 8+8 =16-1= 15 so 68+7=75, therefore 27 + 48 =75.
How did I not know I had ADHD until my 30′s…
I use mental hands, I know instinctively that numbers above 5 add numbers to the second hand, so two numbers above 5 = 10 plus the numbers left in the other hand, I know 7 leaves 2 fingers in the second hand, and 8 leaves 3.
So, 7 + 8 = 10 (one pair of hands) plus 2 + 3 = 5 (in the second hand) Leave the 5, take the one and add it to the number closest to 5, which is 4, yay! I know 5 is a hand, plus 2 makes a 7
75
The amount of mental gymnastics it takes for me to do such simple calculations is honestly embarrassing
Actual representation of me learning about asexuality
In one of those sex ed classes in my 8th grade I asked the lady “What if the person doesn’t want to actually be in a relationship because of the physical stuff”, indirectly speaking of myself (I wasn’t even questioning my own orientation necessarily, I was just curious, I know I’m ace now), she responded with a smile and: “Well, you’ll just have to find someone else!” Reading this in an old diary was mind blowing, foresight’s 20/20, good on her for not perpetuating forceful culture, but I wish LGBT+ themes were more ingrained, that would’ve saved a lot of my issues growing up and I wouldn’t have had to wait until uni for that EUREKA moment.
heres some random updates so you can get a grasp on whats happening here in the philippines:
professors are urging their students to let them know if theyre not gonna come to class so theyll know that theyre still alive
parents are telling their kids not to come home late, or if they will, to take an uber even though its priced like 5x more
people are sharing constitutional rights on twitter, to teach everyone what to say to the popos just in case
nobody trusts the police anymore
police have a QUOTA of “drug addicts” they need to kill
almost 13k dead without due process, but chines drug lords and presidents son who were involved in a drug smuggling worth 6 billion are still walking free
all it takes is a facebook rumor to put you on the hit list
politicians who are criticizing the administration are being impeached
politicians who love the administration admit that their duty is to the president, NOT to the people
theres been talks in extending the presidents term
It literally feels like an unofficial dictatorship
please help us
does anyone have any news sources and dates for people to be better informed??
hiya i made that post on mobile so i wasnt able to add links but here are some sources on whats been happening in the ph for the last few months:
im p sure i missed a lot since something bad happens literally EVERYDAY so like feel free to add more
in what ways can we help? like. this is a pretty bad situation yall are in and we’d love to help out any way we can
@crystalthecool for the most part just keeping awareness up helps. Making it a big deal and pointing out just how fucked up it is actually does help put it into perspective for the Filipinos who have no idea just how serious the situation is (mainly because awareness and education are so lacking that most Filipinos don’t even know what the CHR does and will just parrot Duterte when he says he doesn’t like it)
